Shari Boxdorfer

Shari has worked in the mental health field since 1993. She completed her Master of Arts in Counseling in 2005. While most of her current work is administrative, she continues helping others navigate life’s challenges in the clinical setting. Shari brings lifelong experience in leadership and enjoys seeing her coworkers excel in their craft.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Monica serves as the practice manager for New Vision Counseling. Her role goes beyond overseeing operations and ensuring quality care, to offering support for both patients and staff to help ensure their needs are met.  Monica has many years experience in navigating the complexities of mental health services and reimbursement and is committed to promoting mental health wellbeing.

Victoria Akin

Tori graduated in 2018 and has been on the New Vision team since 2020. Her knack for organization helps keep New Vision running smoothly, and she brings energy and structure to everything she does. Her face is the first to greet you as she welcomes you to New Vision’s services. She is eager to help you in setting up your initial counseling experience.

Chelsie Litchfield

Billing Clerk/Credentialing

Chelsie has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has worked as our billing clerk since October 2014 and works diligently to get our therapist paneled with insurance providers. For Chelsie it is important that payments and claims are billed correctly to your insurance. She is glad to help you understand any bills that may come your way. You can always call if you have questions, and she will answer them as soon as possible.

Lori Blattner

MSW, Ed.S., LCSW

Lori is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a specialization in Counseling Education (Ed.S). She is dedicated to serving the Medicare clientele. Her therapeutic approach is designed to be safe and straightforward, empowering individuals to gain their own insights, identify underlying issues, problem-solve, recognize personal strengths, and work towards healing. She equips her clients with a diverse range of coping mechanisms and self-care strategies to ensure sustained optimal living. Lori's practice is primarily rooted in Systems Theory, Family Systems, Grief Counseling, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Cheyenne Cover

MA, NCC, PLPC

Cheyenne holds an MA in Mental Health Counseling from SEMO. She is passionate about aiding individuals, families, and couples to overcome various forms of adversity or hardships by creating a space that allows for nonjudgemental exploration and reflection. The majority of the practice is focused on the aspects of the client challenging their thoughts, actions, and perspectives, while learning to articulate their needs and wants. Her approach is a trauma focused cultural lens that uses multiplicity and humanistic views to help the client gain perspective into themselves and the systems in which they operate.

Samantha Henrickson

MA, CADC

Samantha is an addictions counselor at New Vision Counseling. Addiction can be devastating to families and individuals, and can cause people to believe no one is there to help. Sam wants to give clients hope that there is another chance, someone who hasn't given up on them. She is willing to provide a safe space for individuals while they work through their struggles and be someone who believes in them!

Sue Nesler

MS, MA, NCC, LPC, C-IAYT— Federal Contract Liaison

Sue has over 25 years of experience working in social services, community mental health, movement/somatic therapies, and education. She works with adult clients to assist with trauma recovery, physical health, chronic pain, survivors of abuse, and the Neurodiverse population. Sue specializes in forensic counseling and is a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abusers. She offers modalities such as talk therapy, somatic therapy, Oculocardiac Convergence Therapy, Mindfulness, and CBT, all through the lens of Existential Therapy. Additionally, Sue is trained in Compassion-Focused Therapy.

Maggie Salem

MA, NCC, PLPC

Maggie recently finished her Master of Arts in Counseling at Southeast Missouri State University. Before this career shift, Maggie was a music educator in public schools for ten years. Her passion is helping children, adolescents, and adults live authentically while learning to cope with life's stressors. Maggie is also a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and enjoys using creative therapeutic techniques such as art and sand trays.

Julie Sappington

MA, LPC

Julie earned her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from Southeast Missouri State University. She helps clients identify strengths and values to reach their desired future. Julie believes all growth is built on self-compassion and encourages clients to approach change with curiosity and patience. She uses play-based activities to help children share emotions and teaches emotional regulation skills. Julie provides clients a safe space and unconditional support to strengthen their health. Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, grief, adult ADHD, and coping with chronic pain.

Randi Senciboy

LCSW, MSW, BSW, BSBA

Randi has been working at New Vision for nearly 6 years. Her main goal with all clients is to provide an environment where they feel safe and comfortable to express themselves. She has a background in crisis management and experience with trauma-related issues, relationship struggles, daily living struggles, identity struggles, and much more.

Joseph Telker-Hernandez

MSPS, Counselor

Joseph has been working in the mental health field since 2002. He completed his Master of Science in Psychological Services in 2006. He provides services to the substance use and federal population, in addition to the mental health population. Joseph enjoys his work greatly and is glad when others reach their mental health goals. His motto is "Never give up; you can do it; one day at a time".”
